5 more days to go... I was very excited before and thought of wearing a saree (traditional Indian dress) for her wedding. As the date gets closer, I feel very hopeless as I haven't found any. =( The reception is also two emirates away from me. Hello, transpo?!

Here are the invitations. First one is the Mehndi, where friends of the bride and the groom gather and celebrate before the wedding. Sing, dance, eat and just simply have fun!

Here's the wedding invitation. I have the hard copy and I really liked it! Thanks, Noor!

Al Ghurair City Mall & Dubai Mall

I did not have enough sleep. Did a 12-hour day shift, but instead of getting some sleep, I gave Mommy company to Al Ghurair City for some window shopping. Suzette and her boyfriend, Ayman, had nothing to do, so they decided to join us to celebrate the night. =)

We bought Charles & Keith brown belt as Mother was complaining too much of her belt about to cut into half. Poor Old Mommy. =)

With nothing much to do inside Al Ghurair, Suzette decided to go to Dubai Mall. Known to be the biggest mall in the world, Mother was so excited to be there!

Well, she did not regret for being so. She was totally amazed of EVERYTHING! Amazed how huge the place is, how gorgeous the fountain is, how wide the halls are, how hi-tech facilities are, how nice the interior decorations, etc… Well, I agree with her.

Not to forget the HUGE aquarium they have as centerpiece. A big WOW!

My jaw dropped when I saw the big SALE of New Look. I told myself not to buy but it was just simply irresistible! OMG! I want to shop, shop, shop! Huhuhuhuhuh… I settled for a top for me and Mother and 2 bracelets.

Look at that! Heaven! Remember this, I will definitely be back!

Bought a pair of flats from Vincci and then we called it a night. On our way home, Mother was feeling very hungry. So we dropped by at The Pizza Company and had this! heheheheh! =)

But still not satisfied, so Haagen Dazs to the rescue!

I personally less visit this mall. Not because I don't like it, simply because Deira City Centre is closer to my place. I know DCC by heart and DFC is like a big puzzle to me.

This day, I took my Mom for a visit. First, we went to IKEA and bought little, little things which were on SALE as part of celebrationg Dubai Summer Surprises and their 50th Anniversary. We bought arabic lamps for her and my aunt, random containers and a glass pitcher. It was worth it.

Before paying, we dropped by at IKEA-furnished, IKEA self-service food court. Mommy had the "Meal of the Day" which was Buttered Chicken. She didn't like it, actually. hahahahah! =)

IKEA visit was worth visiting. =)

Showed her the centerpiece of the mall. A fountain of different levels and division, while having stairs in between. Nice idea, isn't it?

Another highlight of the mall is their Canal Walk. Al Fresco dining, while abras (small boats) pass by in Marina.

I wanted Mommy to try the abra ride but it was so damn humid and we just can't endure it any longer. We went back inside the mall and had Fruit Smoothie at Barista for a fresh feeling.

She wasn't contented, though. We headed to Baskin Robbins and grabbed Jamocha Almond Fudge!

Deira City Centre

When Rowie & Somer arrived in Dubai almost 3 years back, without any doubt, I took them to Deira City Centre for them to buy some things. I applied the same to my Mom's first day in Dubai. =)

Somer was able to catch up with us, so the three of us went to DCC.

Every shop was on SALE. We did not shop but I bought a plaid polo and headband (just like in Gossip Girl!) from H&M. Then she met this mascot in the hall. At first, the mascot was facing the other side. My mom squeezed the butt, and then the mascot turned around and she was super shocked because it was a man! hahahahahah! She laughed like a kid and they did something like this. Captured!

Our original plan was dinner at Japengo's. Then I realized that Japengo's nicer in Burjuman, so settled for Burger King. Ordered Mushroom 'n Swiss XXL and obviously, she did not finish even half of it. Even I can't.

I couldn't remember how anxious I was. I know the flight will arrive at 10:45PM and considering getting down from the aircraft, immigration process and baggage collection, I know she can get out maximum 11:45PM. But still, I went to the airport out of excitement at 10:30PM and waited and waited...

I waited for so long... She got out at exactly midnight! Seems like the flight was rerouted due to high turbulence. Anyways, here she is when she got out -- smiling! She was carrying the "Welcome" cake I requested for her onboard.

Mother didn't get enough sleep onboard. Even so, I still insisted on taking her out for a midnight snack at The Pizza Company. Carbonara and Spicy Chicken for her first meal! =)

I'm a bit excited how I'm gonna spend the rest of my day.  There are two major things that I need to do, actually.

No.1:  Go to old Emirates Headquarters.  Meet Sam and give him my "pasalubong" from Philippines.  He is now assigned in Visa Services -- makes my life easy!  I will submit the requirements to process my mother's UAE Tourist Visa.  Of course, chit-chat will always be there.

No.2: How could I forget Gossip Girl on my OFF? Very positive that I will finish Season 2 today.  Weee... I'm looking forward to Blair-Chuck love affiar as in I find it now interesting. hehehehe!

To all Gossip Girl fanatics, Hilary Duff is joining Gossip Girl Season 3 as roommate of V.   Move over, S and B! =)

Last night, I fell asleep with my laptop on while Gossip Girl Season 2 - Episode 4 playing.  I wanted to finish Season 2 but my whole body surrendered.

Here I am.  Very sleepy, very hungry.  I woke up at noon today, which is way too early for a night shift that begins at 06:00PM.  My housemate was trying to catch up with me for Gossip Girl series and the voice of Blair woke me up.  I wanted to get back to sleep but my mind wouldn't stop imagining, so I grabbed my laptop and continued watching where I stopped last night.  Gggrrr... what a temptation it had been!

Damn damn sleeepppppyyyyyyyy... please please please... give me company tonight.

I admit. I am super addicted to it now. When I say super, it is SUPER!

Gossip Girl is an American drama television which revolves around the lives of wealthy teenagers at an elite pep school growing up on New York. Same as any other teenager series, but I don’t think this is a crap.

I did not do anything yesterday except watched the 13 episodes of Season 1. And I definitely can’t wait to go home now and watch the remaining 5 episodes!

Most of my friends adore Blair Waldorf but I just love Serena van der Woodsen. She may be a bitch, slut or wild in the past but she changed for the better when she unexpectedly returned to Manhattan. I appreciate how she takes care of her younger brother, Eric van der Woodsen, how she loves her boyfriend, Dan Humphrey (even if their worlds are different), how she protects her best friend, Blair Waldorf and how she refused Nate Archibald after what happened. So difficult things to do for a wild teenager before.

I hope my impression won’t change until the end of the season!

xoxo

Yes... When we arrived at Sibulan Port at 02:45PM, there was a bold message of NO TRAVEL THIS AFTERNOON. gosh! We (Hanz, Lavime, Jimmy & Luke) are stranded here in the City of Gentle People because of the storm.

Then we headed to Dumaguete Pier to try our luck for an alternative. Thank God, Cokaliong didn't declare any cancellations for tongiht. We issued tickets back to Cebu with Cokaliong leaving at midnight, so I am sitting here in one Internet Cafe near Rowie's house to kill the time. I don't have a single idea how to spend the next 7 hours!

Somebody help us!

This year’s Independence Day Theme is: “Kagitingan, Kagalingan at Kasipagan Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan.” Happy Independence Day, my fellowmen! Mabuhay ang lahing Pilipino! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

Ang saya-saya siguro ng mga nagtra-trabaho. Walang pasok! I miss this. =)

If my leave had been approved before June 11, I could have attended Lopez – Lapina Nuptials at Redemptorist Church and celebrate 111th Philippines Independece Day today. Nice ang number, noh? :p

Refreshing my boring history classes, I searched in Google and found this. “In the afternoon of 12 June 1898 in the town of Cavite-Viejo, Filipinos gathered at the residence of General Emilio Aguinaldo to witness the first Philippine national flag unfurl as the San Francisco de Malabon Band played the Lupang Hinirang.” Oh, I didn’t know it was San Francisco del Malabon Band who played?! Well, trivia for everyone! heheheheh! =)

At 03:30 PM today, Karl (but I always call him "Tyke") & Janice joined hearts together at Redemptorist Church, Cebu City. I wish I was there to see them exchange "I Do's". Sad. =( Since January, I blocked my calendar for this day and planned to attend their wedding but unfortunately, my leave was not approved before June11. It would have been nice to meet my teammates again and have fun just like old times.

Janice and I worked in Sykes Asia before and were teammates for over a year. With these team buildings, out-of-town outings, dine outs, birthdays, fiestas, parties and gatherings we had in our team, Tyke was with us. Somehow, we got to know him and welcomed him as part of the team.

After 6 years of relationship, they have finally tied the knot! Best Wishes and Congratulations!!! If you want to express your sentiments, you may visit www.karlandjanice.weddingannouncer.com.  They will be glad to hear from you!

As Lavime said, the wedding was very nice and almost perfect! WOW! Thanks to her for the updated snaps below.

Travel update: tatlong tulog nalang, Pilipinas na naman!  I am overflowing with excitement and I don’t know how to stop it.

When Cebu Pacific had their promotion last April, I issued a one-way ticket from Manila to Cebu for 17June09.  At that time, I really expected that my leave won’t get approved at the last minute.  But it got approved and I am able to travel from 13June09.  What to do? I have no other choice but to issue another ticket from Manila to Cebu for 14June09.  Sayang nga yong promo ticket ko. =(

Well, I just issued PAL ticket for myself.   By the time the aircraft landed in Mactan International Airport, I will have a perfect view of Cebu sunrise.  Good Morning, Cebu! :p

Kakainis nga, eh.  The last time I checked online, the fare was PHP882.00.  Now, the fare has incredibly increased to PHP 1388.00.  Again, what to do?  But I’m still quite happy with it, though.  PAL leaves 20mins early and allows 5kgs more than Cebu Pacific.   Since the last time I went home (12March09), I’m beginning to develop this fear of baggage allowance.  You know why?  I paid freaking PHP4, 500 for excess baggage! Bloody hell! It freaked me out!  Then I made a promise for myself not to bring my closet every time I go home.

I am happy because I have true friends.  In the absence of my family, my friends are there whom I share moments with, cheer me up when I’m down, make me laugh and cry, help me when I am in need, understand what I feel, respect my decisions, make me special in their own ways, accept me for who I really am … and the list goes on.  I should say I’m very, very lucky as I have many of them

travel update: 4 more days to go and I'm out of here. Guess where I'm going! I'm not yet done packing, still have a lot of things to ready, busy sorting my itineraries and I definitely couldn't wait for the day to come!

I got an idea from a colleague, Maheen, to list 100 things that make me happy. I couldn't complete the list right now, so I decided to write/think one per day until the list get complete. By this, I can think of a genuine thing that makes me happy and no pressure to finish the list. I made one this morning. =)

I am happy when I receive e-mails from my Mom, Hanz and my friends. Whenever I see their names from the “From” field, I get very excited and wonder what might be the content inside. Whether a short “Hi” or a long story, it will really make my heart smile.

... 99 more to come!

Blog EntryNine Words Women UseMay 6, '09 12:04 PM
for everyone
NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
(1)  Fine:This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes:If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing:This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead:This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh:This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay:This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks:A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever:Is a woman's way of saying F--YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it:Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Blog EntryShort Story With A MoralFeb 6, '09 9:41 AM
for everyone

An attractive blonde from Cork, Ireland arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty-thousand Euros on a single roll of the dice.

She said, 'I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude'.

With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, 'Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!'

As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down and squealed...'YES! YES! I WON, I WON!'

She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed.

The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, 'What did she roll?'

The other answered, 'I don't know - I thought you were watching.'

What is the moral of the story?

Not all Irish are drunks,
not all blondes are dumb,
but all men...are men.
